IBPS RRB Scale 2 Exam Pattern and Syllabus
IBPS decides the syllabus and exam pattern. The IBPS includes three stages – Prelims, Mains, Interviews. Candidates who clear all the three stages get selection. While those who fail to clear any of these stages cannot secure selection in the IBPS. IBPS released the syllabus and exam pattern in the official notification. IBPS RRB Scale 2 Exam Pattern – Prelims
The syllabus of the prelims exam differs from the mains exam. The level of difficulty of questions also differs. IBPS conducts the exam in online mode. Candidates have to appear for the online written exam. The marks of the prelims exam are not included in the final result. Prelims exam is of qualifying nature.
- The prelims exam is held in online mode. There is no other mode to appear for the prelims exam.
- The prelims exam includes three sections – English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning.
- The time allotted to complete the prelims exam is one hour. Candidates have to finish the exam in the given time.
- The prelims exam includes Objective Type Questions. Each question carries four options. Candidates have to choose the right option from the given options.
- Each question carries one mark and negative marks will be rewarded for giving wrong answers. A penalty of 0.25 marks is imposed for giving incorrect answers.
- The medium for giving the exam is English and Hindi. However, the questions of English Sections will be asked in English Language only.
- Candidates must go through the exam pattern and syllabus of the IBPS RRB Scale 2 Exam carefully. There would be a sectional cut-off to qualify for the exam.

IBPS RRB Scale 2 Exam Pattern – Mains
- The mains exam is held in both offline and online mode.
- The mains exam includes four sections – English, Data Interpretation, Reasoning and Computer, Banking Awareness.
- It also includes a descriptive paper having two questions – Letter and Essay Writing.
- The mains exam includes both Objective and Descriptive Type Questions.
- The duration to complete the Objective Questions is 3 hours or 180 minutes. The duration to complete the descriptive paper is 30 minutes.
- There will be a sectional time limit to finish the exam.
- There will be a sectional cut-off for each section.
- Candidates who score higher in the mains exam will be called for the Interview.

Exam Pattern for Interview
- Candidates who clear the mains exam are called for an interview round. Marks will be given for interviews as well.
- The interview round carries 100 marks. The final result will be prepared on the basis of the marks scored in the interview round.
- The interview carries 20% weightage in the final result. Candidates cannot take this stage lightly.
- In this round, the overall personality and academic expertise of the candidates are assessed by the interviewers.
- The interview round is held in offline mode.
- Candidates belonging to the reserved categories need to score at least 35% marks in the interview round.
- Candidates belonging to the General/OBC/EWS categories need to score at least 40% marks in the interview round.
IBPS RRB Scale 2 Syllabus
