Overview

SSC Central Police Organization (CPO Full form) or SSC CPO is a national-level exam conducted annually by SSC. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts this exam to recruit applicants for the position of Sub-Inspector (SI) in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces. The exam is conducted to recruit for positions in several police organizations such as the BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, and SSB. The CPO exams are administered by the SSC, which is one of the government organizations for which the SSC conducts the recruitment exam.

  • 10th October 2023 – SSC CPO Objection Window is now over.
  • On July 22, 2023, the official website published the SSC CPO 2023 Exam Notification in its entirety. Last date to apply for the exam is 15th August 2023.
  • SSC CPO Paper 1 to be conducted between 3rd October to 6th October.
  • SSC CPO paper 2 to be conducted on 22nd December 2023.

On 22nd July 2023, SSC published the recruiting announcement for the SSC CPO test on the official website. The deadline to submit the online applications will be 15th August 2023. The notification contains all the necessary information regarding the Central Police Organisation exam, including the opening, requirements, dates, format, and syllabus.

The Commission chooses candidates by the openings indicated by the relevant User Departments / Offices for various roles. The Commission cannot control the number of openings in any User Department or Office. The total number of vacancies released for Sub-Inspector (Exe.) in Delhi Police is 109, and Sub-Inspector (GD) in CAPFs is 1714.

SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility standards must be met by the candidates. There are various exceptions for some categories. Aspirants who meet the following eligibility requirements and are willing to appear for the exam must review the SSC CPO Syllabus and begin studying.

SSC CPO Age Limit

As of 01st January 2021, candidates must be between 20 and 25 years of age. They must have been born between 01st February 1997 and 01st January 2002.

Qualification

Candidates must have any of the below educational qualification to apply for the exam:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a university recognized by the UGC is required. Graduation can be from any field of study.
  • Candidates in their last year of a Bachelor’s degree are also qualified to take this exam, as long as they are able to produce the result as and when required during the recruitment process.

Nationality / Citizenship

The criteria for nationality must be adhered by the applicants. A candidate can be any of the following:

  • an Indian citizen, or
  • a subject of Nepal, or
  • a subject of Bhutan.

SSC CPO Application Process

Application Fees

The last date to make the fee payment for SSC CPO 2022-23 exam for both online and offline method was 15th August 2023 till 11:00 pm. Women candidates, candidates from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Ex-servicemen (ESM) are exempt from paying the application fee. Candidates can pay the cost in two ways:

  • Via credit card, debit card, or net banking (Online)
  • SBI Challan (Offline)

Application Steps

The following are the steps to be followed when applying for the SSC CPO 2023 exam:

  • Candidates must go to the official website and click on the ‘Apply’ option to fill out the application form for the SSC CPO 2023 test.
  • Candidates must first click the CAPF tab, then the ‘Click Here to Apply’ link in a new window that appears.
  • After clicking the aforementioned link, a new window will open in which you must click the ‘Register’ link to access the registration form. Fill in the blanks and press ‘enter.’ If the candidates have already registered, click “log in” to access the application form and download it.
  • Candidates will receive an email with a registration number and password after completing the registration process.
  • Candidates must log in with their registration number and password and complete the application form by providing the needed information.
  • Pay the application cost to complete the final stage, either online or through offline mode.
  • Download the form for future references.

SSC CPO Admit Card

SSC CPO admit card 2022-23 for paper 2 is now available for download from 18th April 2023 onwards. Admit cards have always been significant as they serve as identification proof and also individually identify candidates, therefore carrying them to the examination hall is essential.

Separate Admission Cards are released by SSC for Paper I and Paper II. The admit card for paper I was issued on 30th October 2022 and the admit card for Paper II is now available for download. The candidates must download the admission card from the website of conducting body.

The steps below will help the candidate to download the SSC CPO admit card easily.

  • Candidates should go to the official website and click on the “Admit Card” option.
  • When the candidates click on the admission card link, a new window will appear, with a list of all regional website connections. Now, they must select the region to which they belong (e.g., Eastern Region) and then click on the appropriate link. It will resemble the example below.
  • After clicking on that link, the candidate will be taken to the regional website, where they can download the SSC CPO 2023 Admit Card for the exam that is currently open.
  • The candidate must select “Download e-Admit Card” from the drop-down menu. Then they will be directed to a new page where they must provide their Roll number/Registration number as well as their Date of Birth as a password. The candidate must then select the “Search Status” option.
  • If the candidate does not have access to their Registration number, they can submit their Father’s or Guardian’s name as well as their Date of Birth.
  • On the computer screen, the SSC CPO Admit Card for Paper I/ Paper II will appear. Candidates must print their Admit Card after downloading it.

Exam Centre Details

Three exam centers are available for candidates to select as their preferred locations. Because they cannot change their location after they have chosen it, they must be careful while selecting the exam centers. Additionally, the commission has the authority to change the exam location and assign a new location to the candidates in advance of the examination.

SSC CPO Exam Pattern

SSC CPO exam pattern describes the scheme of the examination. The exam will consist of Paper I, Physical Test (PST & PET), Paper-II, and a Medical Test. These are the 4 phases of the SSC CPO 2023 selection process. The complete exam pattern for SSC CPO Paper 1 & 2 may be found in the chart below.

  • There will be objective multiple-choice questions in both the papers.

SSC CPO Exam Pattern: Physical Standard Test (PST)

Every candidate who passes the Paper-I exam is required to take this test. As given in the chart below, such qualified candidates will be invited to take a PST to determine their eligibility.

Important Note:

  • PET is not required for ex-servicemen applying for these positions.
  • Candidates’ weight requirements would be based on their height for all positions.
  • Only those who produce a certificate in Proforma as prescribed in Annexure VIII from the relevant agencies of the candidate’s home district are eligible for height and chest standard relaxation.

Important Note:

  • For female candidates, there is no minimum chest size restriction.
  • On the PST/PET grounds, candidates who do not meet the PET standards can appeal to the authority. The decision of the Authority would be final, and no further appeals would be considered.

SSC CPO Result and Cutoffs

SSC CPO is considered to be one of the most prestigious exams in India. The result for SSC CPO Paper I is released, candidates can check the same in the official website. The commission took the examination for SI in Delhi police forces and CAPFs in various exam centers across the country.

SSC CPO Results 2023

Results for SSC CPO 2023 is yet to be released.

Last Year, after the exam of Paper 1 was completed on 11th November 2022, the SSC CPO exam Result was announced. On 27th December 2022, the Staff Selection Commission published the results of the SSC CPO Paper I Exam 2022-23 on its website.

The SSC CPO PET/PST for the 2022-23 cycles was held from 30th January 2023 to 4th February 2023. Candidates can check the result of the same on the official website now. The result was published on 24th March 2023.

After the completion of Paper 2 exam on 2nd May 2023, Paper 2 results will be announced. Candidates can assess their prospects of passing SSC CPO 2022-23 by comparing their result to the SSC cut-off scores. Each exam’s result is usually announced within two months from the date of conduction of the exam.

To the test venue for Paper 2 and PET, candidates must bring their Paper-1 result card as well as their Admit card. As a result, candidates should keep their admit cards and results cards safe.

In order to easily get the score card, the candidate must follow the simple steps given below.

  • The candidate needs to visit the website. This is the official website of the SSC.
  • Click on the results in the upper menu on the homepage.
  • Select SSC CPO from the list of exams to see whether there are any new result notifications for the SSC CPO Exam.
  • If available, click the PDF icon next to the result notification in the result column.
  • You will see a notification about the result appear in front of you. Find the link provided in the notification by scrolling down.
  • On your screen, a list of the roll numbers of the candidates who passed the SSC CPO exam will show.
  • Use the search option (Ctrl + F) to find your roll number in the list and see if you’ve been qualified or not.
  • For future references, the candidates must download as well as save the result PDF. Candidates must also take printouts of the result PDF.

There will be no interview for SSC CPO, the final result will be determined by the cumulative score attained in SSC CPO Papers 1 and 2. It takes around 8 to 9 months in completion of exam and publication of the final results.

SSC CPO Cutoffs 2023

SSC CPO Paper-I Cut Off Marks are yet to be released by the officials. The detailed cut-off marks will then be available on the official website for applicants who took the exam.

The board will post the Paper-I cutoff points for each category, gender, and post on its official website soon. Candidates who meet the requirements will be eligible to participate in the PET/PST stage. Finally, candidates who pass all of the rounds will be placed in the final merit list, and the SSC Board will announce the cutoff for the same.

  • After it is posted on the official website of the SSC, the cut-off scores can be downloaded any time.
  • The cut-offs for different gender, category and post will be published by the examination body.
  • Candidates should be aware of prior year’s cutoffs so that they can better organize their study schedule.
