RRB NTPC Exam Pattern

The recruitment process for RRB NTPC exam involves several stages, which are as follows:

  • Computer Based Test 1 (CBT 1)
  • Computer Based Test 2 (CBT 2)
  • Skill Test/Aptitude Test

  • Medical Examination

EXAM PATTERN FOR RRB NTPC : CBT 1

  • Aspirants are screened through the 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) conducted by the authorities.
  • The exam lasts for 1.5 hours (90 minutes) but for PWD candidates, it is extended to 120 minutes.
  • Each incorrect attempt results in a negative marking of  ⅓  marks.
  • Leaving a question unanswered does not result in any deduction of marks.

The exam comprises multiple sections, with each section containing a specified number of questions as listed below:

The exam pattern for the RRB NTPC CBT-2 can be summarized as follows:

  • The merit-based shortlisting of candidates for the 2nd Stage CBT will be done using the normalized score of RRB NTPC CBT-1.
  • The level of difficulty of the questions in the exam is determined based on the levels of posts.
  • The duration of the exam is 1.5 hours (90 minutes).
  • The negative marking scheme is where 1/3 of the marks assigned to each question will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
