About SEBI Grade A Exam

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) is an organization in the control of the government. The organization was set up in the year 1992. Sebi Grade A is managed by Govt. The precise date of the establishment of the organization is April 12, 1992. The organization was set up in the accordance with the act named Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992. This functioning of the government works with the aim “to protect and safeguard the interest of investors in securities and to promote the development of, and to regulate the securities market and for the matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.”

The current chairman of the organization is Shri Ajay Tyagi. The Commodity Derivatives Market Regulation Department is responsible for supervising the functioning and operations of Commodity Derivative Segments of Recognized Stock Exchanges/Recognized Clearing Corporations.

Eligibility for SEBI Grade A

The basic eligibility criterion for appearing in the exam has two conditions namely educational qualification and age limit. Candidates are permitted to apply for the maximum of two streams only for which he/she is eligible to apply, based on their educational qualifications. The detail of the educational criteria and age limit is mentioned below:

Age Limit:

  1. The maximum age limit for appearing in the exam is 30 years. This means applicants born before 01st March 1990 are not eligible for the exam.
  2. There is age relaxation for the reserved categories as per the government norms which is provided in the table below:

Stream SEBI Grade A Educational Criteria
General General stream competitors should hold a Masters’s degree in any discipline OR bachelor’s degree in Law. Bookkeeper/Organization Secretary/Sanctioned Monetary Investigator/Cost and Work Bookkeeper.
Legal A candidate must have a bachelor’s degree from the recognized University/ Institute in the stream of Law.
Information technology Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical / Electronics / Electronics And Communication / Information Technology / Computer Science) OR Masters in Computers Application OR Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a postgraduate qualification (minimum 2 years duration) in Computers / Information Technology.
Civil engineering A candidate should have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university/ institute in the stream of civil engineering.
Electrical engineering A candidate should have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university/ institute in the stream of electrical engineering.
Research Master’s Degree in Statistics / Economics / Commerce / Business Administration (Finance) / Econometrics from a recognized University / Institute.

SEBI Grade A Salary

  1. The compensation size of the SEBI Grade A Director is INR 28150-1550(4)- 343501750(7)- 46600-EB-1750(4) – 53600-2000(1)- 55600 (17 years).
  2. Without accommodation, the salary per month is Rs 1,07,000 and with accommodation, the compensation is roughly Rs 73,000.
  3. The salary for the first year for SEBI Grade A manager is Rs 28, 150.
  4. For the initial 5 years of administration, there is a yearly addition of INR 1550.
  5. Hence in the fifth year, the salary for the EBI Grade A official would be Rs 34,450. The increment will be Rs 1750.

SEBI Grade A Syllabus

How to download the admit card?
