The Nainital Bank Management Trainees (MTs) and Clerk examination are being conducted to fill 150 vacancies in which 75 is for Management Trainees (MT) and 75 is for Clerks. It is a two-stage selection process
- Online Objective Test
- Personal Interview
The applicants can apply for both the above posts independently as the online assessment is proposed to be held in two distinct shifts on the same day.

Latest Notification for the Nainital Bank Exam –
On July 23rd, the recruiting body has recently modified the maximum age for MTs (Management Trainees) to be 28. In the previous notification, it has been mentioned as 27. The minimum and maximum age are calculated as of March 31, 2021.

Application fees for the Nainital Bank Exam –
The fee payment process is integrated with the application process. The payment of the application fee is done through online mode and is non-refundable. The candidates can pay their fee between July 17-31st of 2021. Candidates should bear the online fee transaction charges.

Note – Only online mode and no other mode of payment are accepted. The payment is done through Credit cards, Debit cards, Internet Banking, UPI ID. An e-receipt will be generated indicating the successful completion of the payment.
Eligibility for the Nainital Bank Exam-
The Nainital Bank has also released the eligibility criteria for the candidates in their official notification. The following eligibility criteria hold for both MT (Management Trainee) and Clerk –

Candidates with experience in the banking sector are most preferred. Experience is not a basic eligibility criterion to write the exam. Freshers with adequate banking knowledge can also apply.

The number of vacancies can also vary based on the requirement of the bank. In any case, the decision of the bank is considered final. The selected candidates can be posted or later transferred to any of the branch locations.

The CTC for MT (Management Trainee) is approximately Rs 7 lacs per year along with special allowances. Similarly for Clerks, the CTC is approximately Rs 4 lacs per year with allowances.
Security bond –
An indemnity bond is an obligation bond signed by the candidates against the loss that arises due to participation failure.
Applicants are encouraged to note that they will be needed to execute an Indemnity Bond for a period of 2 years. If the applicant leaves or abandons the Bank before finishing the predefined period, he/she should pay the Bank for its measures.

The registration process for the Nainital Bank Exam
- Visit the official website of Nainital Bank (nainitalbank.co.in).
- Click on the recruitment option on the home page.
- Click the registration link and select “Apply Online”
- Fill in the basic details such as name, residence, qualification, percentage obtained during graduation, Id proof, work experience, etc.,
- The details given during the registration must go hand-in-hand with the details in the Id proof.
- Note that the Ration card and Learner’s Driving license are not accepted as valid Id proofs.

- The proof for work experience must be submitted during the time of the personal interview.
- The photograph must be scanned and uploaded (4.5 * 3.5 cm)
- The signature must be in black ink (signature in capital letters are not accepted). Left thumb impression and a handwritten declaration all must be scanned and uploaded.
- If you cannot finish the application in one go, you can save the temporary information by picking save and next tab.
- The final application is shown as a preview before giving a final submission.
- After the final submission, you will be redirected to the payment page.
- Once the registration is complete, you will be intimidated through the mail.
- Save your Registration number and Password for further use. It will be used to log in and download the Admit Card once it is released.
Upload and scanning of documents
- Photograph – Must be a recently taken picture with no harsh shadows. Hats, caps, and dark glasses must be avoided. Eyes are to be visible with no reflections.
- Measurements 200 x 230 pixels. The size of the file is to be between 20 kb–50. Ensure that the size of the checked picture isn’t more than 50kb.
- Signature – Candidates have to sign on white paper with black ink. Similarly, their left thumb impression is also needed (black or blue ink).
- Declaration – The declaration should also be hand-written on white paper (black ink).
- Hand Written Declaration – “I, ———–(Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.
- The file size for a signature is 10-20 kb, for left thumb impression is 50-150 kb and for handwritten declaration, it is 100-200 kb.
- The signature and declaration must not be written in capital letters.
- The file format can be either jpg/jpeg.
Admit Card for the Nainital Bank Exam–
The Admit Card or hall ticket is to be carried to the exam center for verification purposes.

- Candidates should visit the Bank’s website for downloading call letters for online tests.
- The admit card/ call letter is made available 15 days before the exam.
- Implication for downloading call letter will be sent through email/SMS. The candidate is needed to utilize (I) Registration Number/Roll Number, (ii) Password/Date of Birth for downloading the call letter.
- The printout of the call letter must be brought to the examination center, along with a valid Id proof (original) and the photocopy. The photocopy of the Id proof is to be signed by a Gazetted Officer. The photocopy of the Id and photographs are to be submitted during the time of the exam.
- A photograph must also be affixed to the admit card (Preferably the photo given during registration)
Biometric Verification –
- Remember to carry your Admit Card along with a recently taken photograph and Id proof (both original and photocopy)
- Biometric verification of photograph and left thumb impression is to be done in the exam center on the day of the exam.
- Avoid Mehndi or dirty fingers while placing the left thumb impression.

The candidates can choose their desired exam centers while registering. If a different location has been allotted to the candidate, he/she can not modify it.
If a particular center has more candidates than its given capacity, then the bank reserves the right to allot any other nearby center. Candidates arriving late to the venue will not be permitted to take the exam.

The examination is for a total of 200 marks and is online for 145 minutes (2 hours and 25 minutes). It is the objective pattern with each question having 5 choices. A penalty of 0.25 marks is there for every wrong answer.

Candidates who applied for both MT and Clerk should take the exam separately for each post which happens in two different shifts on the same day.

Result –
As it is a computer-based objective exam, the results can be expected within 20 days for the exam. The cut-off depends on the number of candidates and their performance that year. The difficulty of the question paper and the number of seats available also play a key role.

The interview process for the Nainital Bank Exam –
There is no mains examination in this selection process. Hence the candidates who cleared the online test are directly called for a personal interview.
The effective competitors in the Online test will be called for the interview. Dependent on the marks obtained in the online test and meeting, appointment letters will be given for participating in Officers or Clerical Cadre as the case might be dependent upon their being medically fit for the task.
The decision of the bank in the selection process is the final. It has the right to reject candidates without assigning a reason. Similarly, selected candidates can be posted or transferred to any of their branches.
