Unlike other banking exams conducted every year, NIACL opens up the recruitment process as their internal vacancy. Accordingly, NIACL invites applications from the open market. NIACL AO 2021Eligibility Criteria
Also, to be an eligible candidate for the NIACL-AO examination, the candidate has to match certain criteria. Here are the details of the conditions laid down by NIACL.
In addition, the candidate applying for recruitment in the Company must be either-
1.Nationality
- Most importantly, A citizen of India, Or the subject of Nepal, Or A subject of Bhutan, Or a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 to permanently settle in India, Or A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam intending to settle in India permanently.
However, Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d), and (e) shall be a person in whose favor the Government of India has issued a certificate of eligibility.
2.Educational Qualification
- A) Generalist Position:
Also, for a generalist position in the company, a candidate must have the minimum qualification of a graduate/post-graduate in any discipline. Moreover, it should be from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized by Central Government. Along with that;

NIACL AO Vacancies
In addition, the NIACL exam governing body declared the number of vacancies at the time of the release of exam notifications. However, the last recruitment notification was in 2018 when New India Insurance Co. Ltd announced a vacancy of 312 posts. Also. The exact number is expected to receive this year’s awaited information and will be confirmed as soon as NIACL releases any information. NIACL AO Salary
However, the pay scale at New India Assurance Co. Ltd. is very respectable and covers all significant employee benefits. Consequently, the Basic pay is Rs. 32,795/- on the scale of Rs. 32795-1610(14)-55335-1745(4)- 62315, whereas other admissible allowances as applicable. Overall emoluments will be approximate Rs.51,000/- p.m. at Metropolitan Centers. Apart from that, other benefits include coverage under the National Pension System governed by PFRDA, Gratuity, LTS, Medical Benefits, Group Personal Accident Insurance, etc., which shall be as per the rules. On the contrary, Officers are also entitled to Company’s / leased accommodation as per norms. Alternatively, salary scales are due for revision w.e.f Aug 2017.

NIACL AO Exam Pattern
To finally work with NIACL, candidates are tested in three phases. Therefore, candidates need to understand the exam pattern. Apart from that, out of the three phases, Phase-I: is Preliminary Selection, Phase-II: contains the Main Examination, and Phase-III: and the final phase is a Personal Interview round.
Phase-I Examination
However, the first stage of the NIACL examination is the Preliminary Exam. Since there are maximum candidates at this stage, the competition is at the highest level. The Preliminary Examination is an objective-based test, including three sections combined for 100 Marks conducted in Online Mode. Moreover, each team carries 35 marks of weightage, and the time allotted is 20 Mins for each section. Both Hindi and English languages are available to choose from as a mode of test language except for the English department.

Phase-II: Main Examination
Moreover, to secure a position inside the company, the candidate’s level of preparation must be very accurate and in the right areas of the requirements. Also, the difficulty level of the exam rises significantly in the Mains. Like the Preliminary exam, Mains will also consist of the Objective Test of 200 Marks. Thus, each section carries 50 marks of weightage for Generalist and 40 marks for Specialist.
Additionally, the time duration is 120 Mins for the entire exam. Meanwhile, both Hindi and English languages are available. Choose from except for the English section, as a mode of test language. Also, a Descriptive Test of 30 Marks is done immediately after completion of the Objective Test. Both tests are in Online Mode.

Most importantly, each candidate will have to obtain a minimum score for each section of the objective test separately for shortlisted for the Descriptive Test Evaluation.
Descriptive Test:
Above all, the Descriptive Test is of 30 minutes duration, and the entire test will be a Test of the English Language, which is bifurcated into Letter Writing-10 marks & Essay Writing -20 marks. Also, the descriptive test will be in English and will be conducted in online mode.

Apart from that, descriptive answer scripts will only be evaluated for those candidates who qualify in the Objective Tests. Moreover, depending on the number of vacancies available, the NIACL examination body will decide the cut-offs for Descriptive paper evaluation.
Phase-III: Personal Interview
Additionally, candidates who qualify Mains Exam will be further shortlisted and subsequently be called for an Interview. It’s also conducted by the Company. Interviews for final selection will be conducted at select centers finalized by NIACL. Therefore, the interview score carries a weightage of 20% in the overall score rest. 80% is from the Mains Exam.
Admit Card
Most importantly, to download the admit card for both Phase-I and Phase-II, which is done separately. Therefore, candidates must check the official website of NIACL, i.e., http://newindia.co.in. Candidates will also be updated through SMS on their registered Mobile Number and through E.Mail on their registered email id with NIACL. However, once the candidate lands on the above link, they will download the soft copy version of the admit card by accessing the window to admit card download. Moreover, the following details should be with the candidate during the time of downloading the admit card. As it can be used to extract the admit card:
- Registration Number/Roll Number
- Password/Date Of Birth

- Next, choose the tab “Click here for New Registration” and fill in the details of your Name, Contact details, and Email-id.
- After the final check of the details is done, proceed to save your application by clicking the “Validate your details” and then on the “Save & Next buttons.”
- After Validation, candidates can scan and upload all the specified documents, i.e., Passport photograph, Signature, left thumb impression, and a handwritten declaration.
- Now, click on the Preview Tab check the completed application form.
- Subsequently, candidates make a final verification of the details supplied, as no changes are entertained after clicking the “Final Submit.”

Q. What is the minimum age to apply for the NIACL-AO exam?
A. The minimum age is 21 years, and the maximum is 30 years as of 31.12.2021/ Also with relaxation in the upper limit to specific categories of individuals.
Q. In how many job posts can a candidate apply for?
A. Candidates can apply for any ONE discipline only. Hence, applications made to more than one discipline will render all the applications of the candidate invalid.
Q. What is the probation period for the job post once selected?
A.A candidate is appointed in the Officers’ cadre on regular payrolls of the Company. However, they shall be on probation for a minimum of one year from the date of joining duty. However, the probation period may increase twice by a further period of six months, stretching up to one year.
Q.Is there any guarantee bond that the candidate who qualifies is required to undertake?
- Before joining the candidate have to give the undertaking of serving the company for a minimum of four years, which furthermore includes the probation period.
Q.Is there any negative marking for wrong answers?
A. Yes, for every wrong answer, the 1/4th mark will be deducted. However, no marks have been removed for questions that have not been answered.
